How it works

Bling technology is based on the use of silica nanoparticles, which are fully compatible with glass substrates. Their proprietary manufacturing process is patented. These nanoparticles feature a radial porous morphology, providing a highly increased surface area and enhanced reactivity.
Different chemical elements can be incorporated into the silica nanoparticles to impart a wide range of physical and chemical properties to the glass.
The nanoparticles can be applied on the glass surface just after the formation of the object, when it is still at high temperatures (700-550°C). The chemical elements will be released into the glass matrix changing the final properties of glass, such as color. This will allow to produce only one glass type and tailored modifying it depending its final use.
This technology can be applied to various sectors of the glass market thanks to its ability to incorporate functional elements into the final glass matrix, enhancing properties such as mechanical strength, antimicrobial activity, and chemical stability. Glasses with these improved properties can be used in a wide range of industries, including the food, cosmetics, and high-tech sectors.
